HELLO! YOU FOUND ME!

Someone gave Jeanette Yap a pretentious, french-sounding nickname during her teenage years which stuck and became her alias.

Jhawnette (she/they) is an asexual, non-binary illustrator and writer born in Singapore. She received formal art training in ADM NTU (Singapore) where she majored in Visual Communications. She has since worked with Epigram Books, National Heritage Board, National Gallery Singapore, Meantime Zine and AWARE to tell their stories in whimsical ways.

Giving power to underrepresented communities is a huge driving force in her work as she believes that everyone deserves to have their stories told. She also believes in using art to advocate for mental well-being of the vulnerable in this very tumultuous world.

Find her on Instagram and read an interview of hers here.
